Submission of "a certificate certifying COVID-19 negative within 72 hours before departure (negative certificate)" and "COVID-19 test at the airport" are required when entering Japan for the time being until further notice.
(A) Work or Long-term Stay with Status of Residence
• Specified skilled worker
• Business manager
• Intracompany transferee
• As Engineer / Specialist in humanities / International services
• Nursing
• Highly skilled profession
• Start-up
Required documents
1. Passport2. Visa application form with one photo affixed to it (4.5cmx4.5cm, white background)
Available at the consular counter.
3. Certificate of Eligibility
4. Letter of pledge (WORD) 2 sets (can be duplicate copy) (updated Jan 8, 2021)
• The accepting company/organization in Japan should make this letter of pledge (the letter should not be prepared by individual).
• The letter should be made 1 set per applicant (each letter cannot list more than 1 applicant).
5. (In case the validity of the Certificate of Eligibility exceeds 3 months after issuance) a letter from the accepting organization
• Period for which the Certificate of Eligibility is considered valid by submitting the above document:
A. Certificate issued between October 01, 2019 and December 31, 2019 ⇒ Until April 30, 2021
B. Certificate issued between January 01, 2020 and January 30, 2021 ⇒ Until July 31, 2021
C. Certificate issued after January 31, 2021 ⇒ 6 months from the date of issuance
* If the above deadline has passed, you will need to apply for the Certificate of Eligibility again.
* Those who enter Japan by Residence Track are required to observe a 14-day quarantine Period.
(B) Short-term Stay for Business
*Short-term stay for business includes; business communication, business negotiations, contract signing, after-sales service, advertising, market research, meeting attendance, cultural exchange, local government exchange, sports exchange, etc. on a business trip to Japan.
The length of stay in Japan should be within 90 days and the activities must be non-profit activities.

4. Invitation letter (original copy)
5. Letter of guarantee (original copy)
