New Border Measures (27) to review on restrictions on new entry of foreign nationals

 Visa for newly entering Japan for (1) a short-term stay (less than three months) for business purpose or (2)newly entering Japan for a long-term stay is now opened.
 Based on New Border Measures (27) from March 1, 2022, foreign nationals who apply for new entry into Japan to fulfill either of the following category (1) and (2) above, are regarded as those with “special exceptional circumstances” and are allowed for new entry into Japan in principle, if the receiving organizations located in Japan completes prescribed application in the Entrants, Returnees Follow-up System (ERFS).
 

Visa Categories eligible for application 

(1) Short-term stay for Business or working purpose (click here for required documents)
(2) Long-term stay (click here for required documents)

Note: Special exceptional circumstances is also opened for the time being.

** In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Only applicant is required to enter the embassy.
  　 For All statuses of residence subject to a certificate of eligibility

         - Certificates of eligibility issued between: January 1, 2020 to January 31, 2022 → Until July 31, 2022
         - Certificates of eligibility issued between: February 1, 2022 to July 31, 2022 → Valid for 6 months from the date of issue
* a declaration is required if three months have elapsed from the date of issue of CoE
