Undergraduate Students

1. Requirements (*application forms are available below)

1. Academic Background: 12 years of formal education (must be a high school graduate)
2. Age: Born on or after April 2, 1996
3. Transcript: A, B or C of the total examination grade at the examination for the graduation of Upper Secondary Education (National examinations for grade 12)

The fields of study, which applicant is allowed to apply for, are different in accordance with the categories of the examination for the National examinations for grade 12 which applicants passed.

2. Period of study

• 5 years
• Extendable the period of scholarship upon screening by MEXT
• Including 1-year Japanese language training

All courses are taught in Japanese.
Social Sciences and Humanities and Natural Sciences:

• Social Sciences and Humanities-A (SSH-A): Law, Politics, Pedagogy, Sociology, Literature, History, Japanese language and others
• Social Sciences and Humanities-B (SSH-B): Economics and Business Administration
• Natural Sciences-A (NS-A): Science, Electric and Electronic Studies, Mechanical Studies, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Chemical Studies and Other fields
• Natural Sciences-B (NS-B): Agricultural Studies, Hygienic Studies and Biology
• Natural Sciences-C (NS-C): Medicine and Dentistry

Candidates must read all the guidelines before submitting application. 

• Application form (prescribed form): the application form is different in accordance with the categories in Undergraduate Students. Candidates are required to submit the appropriate form for the category which you wish to major in Japan.
