Name: Mr. Kazuo OKUNO
Nationality: Japanese
(2) Explanation

    Symbolize the “60th” anniversary of friendship between Japan and Cambodia by connecting 6 and 0, with the combination of colors of national flags of Japan and Cambodia.
    The golden color of “2013” and silver color of “Angkor Wat” symbolize the brightness future of the two countries.

(2) Explanation

    The catchphrase came from an image of the people’s character of both country that is “gentle and thoughtful to each other”.
    This is a message for these two countries to continue their relationships of trust toward a bright future together.

  Details of entries and selection process

The Embassy of Japan in Cambodia invited the public to create a logo and catchphrase for “60th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Cambodia”. There were 32entries for the logo and 42 entries for the catchphrase mainly from Japan and Cambodia. The official logo and catchphrase were chosen by the Joint Committee of the 60th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Cambodia. This logo and catchphrase will be used throughout 2013.

  To use the logo and catchphrase

The logo and catchphrase will be used as the official symbol of 60th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Cambodia. Organizers who plan to hold events or projects between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2013 in Japan or Cambodia can apply for endorsement of commemorative events of 60th Anniversary. Organizers of endorsed events will be entitled to use the official logo and catchphrase of the 60th Anniversary. The information of endorsed events will be listed on the official event calendar of the 60th Anniversary of Friendship between Japan and Cambodia on the homepage of the Embassy of Japan.
